How do I block a nuisance caller in Microsoft Teams?

Block a caller

If you have a phone number assigned to you in Microsoft Teams and receive nuisance callers, you can block the caller to stop receiving telephone calls from them.


Block a caller with a known caller ID

  1. First open Microsoft Teams

  1. Select the ‘Calls‘ tab

  1. In the call list, next to the telephone number you wish you block. Select the ‘‘ and then ‘Block‘.

Block callers with an unknown caller ID

  1. Within Microsoft Teams select your profile icon in the top right hand corner. This will be your initials or a profile photo you have set.
  1. Select ‘Manage accounts‘ from the drop down menu.
  1. Select ‘Privacy‘ from the left hand menu.
  1. Under the ‘Blocked contacts’ section, tick the box which says ‘Block calls with no caller ID‘.
  1. You call allow unknown caller IDs to contact you again, by deselecting the ‘Block calls with no caller ID’ checkbox.

Remove contacts from your blocked contacts list

  1. Within Microsoft Teams select your profile icon in the top right hand corner. This will be your initials or a profile photo you have set.
  1. Select ‘Manage accounts‘ from the drop down menu.
  1. Select ‘Privacy‘ from the left hand menu.
  1. Under the ‘Blocked contacts’ heading, select ‘Edit blocked contacts
  1. Select ‘Unblock‘ next to the number you wish to unblock
