How do I access the O: Drive?

Access the O: Drive on-campus

To access the O: Drive whilst on-campus you’ll need to be connected to the wired University network.

If you’re using a University laptop you can connect to the wired network directly or via a Universal docking station.

  1. Open File Explorer.
  2. Go to This PC.
  3. Under Network Locations, double click on ‘SHARED (\\STAFF.WORC.AC.UK) (O:)‘.

To access the O: Drive using a personal device, please use Windows Virtual Desktop.

Troubleshooting

If you’ve connected your University of Worcester device to the on-campus wired network and the O: Drive is not appearing, please try restarting your device.

If it still doesn’t appear, please contact us via the IT Service Desk by calling 01905 85 7500, starting a live chat or by logging a ticket on the self-service portal.


Access the O: Drive remotely (off-campus)

Please note: This method requires access to the Windows Virtual Desktop service. You can request access to Windows Virtual Desktop by logging a request on the IT Service Desk self-service portal using the request template ‘Access to Windows Virtual Desktop’.

First, connect to Windows Virtual Desktop to access a virtual machine that has access to resources that usually require the wired network.

  1. Within the Windows Virtual Desktop system, open File Explorer.
  2. Select This PC.
  3. Under Network Locations, double click on ‘SHARED (\\STAFF.WORC.AC.UK) (O:)‘.
