The guides below will help you resolve most minor incidents and queries regarding how to use and troubleshoot the teaching space equipment.
If there is no display projected onto the large screen or if there is a display powered on with no image (no signal), please follow the steps below to check for basic faults.
The correct input option to display the lectern panel is ‘PC’. Please allow a few seconds for the capture devices to sync after the option has been selected.
Holding down the Window’s key ⊞ and pressing the letter ‘P’ will bring up the ‘Project’ menu settings. Here you can change how your display is shared to other connected displays. If you are using a lectern PC or Laptop, ensure that ‘Duplicate’ or ‘Extend’ is selected so that the desktop can be shown on the large projection screen.
Please check to see if there are any flashing or solid red lights under ‘Status’ and/or ‘Power’ indicators. This could be a sign that the devices are not synced up properly or there is a problem with the image signal.
If there seems to be a problem with the device, please contact the IT Service Desk 01905 85 7500 for further support.
Please check the source settings for the lectern monitor are set correctly. This will normally be HDMI or Display Port, this can be checked at the back of the monitor.

Extensive stress and movement of the monitor and monitor arm may cause these connections to become unseated.
For damaged cables, Please contact the IT Service Desk 01905 85 7500 and speak to an available agent.
Using the Source / Input button on the Smart Board, please select the Input menu.
Please select the ‘Input’ option and wait for the sources to present for selection.
The options for Inputs will show you previews of the sources, please select the option marked ‘Room PC’.
If you experience any technical problems please contact the IT Service Desk 01905 85 7500.
You may need to power the screen on if it was turned off previously or shut down. The power button can be found at the top of the control panel.
If there is no sound or the sound is too quiet, please follow the steps below to check for basic faults.
From the sound icon (found on the bottom of the Windows taskbar) you can select different sound output sources. If you are not able to hear your video or other items, please go through the available sound options until one works for you. You can also check to see what volume setting is selected for that output device.
Other sound options are available. If you believe there is a fault with the Crestron system and sound does come out of other devices, please contact the IT Service Desk 01905 85 7500 and speak to an available agent.
Using the volume dial or on-screen touch controls for touchscreen panels, adjust the volume to suit your needs. By default, it should be at a safe audible level. (Be careful not to over-turn the dial and increase the volume past safe limits as this may result in the audio devices being disabled to prevent damage.)
If this does not work or you are still unable to hear sound, please contact the IT Service Desk 01905 85 7500 and speak to an available agent.
If you believe there to be a fault with the audio equipment within the Lectern, please contact the IT Service Desk 01905 85 7500 and speak to an available agent.
