Hello and welcome to the University of Worcester. This pages are designed to help Registered Lecturers and Partner Staff access the most relevant information from the IT Service in their first weeks at the University.
As part of the onboarding process, new staff members are required to read the Information Security Policy and the IT Regulations.
The purpose of this policy is to provide guidance for safeguarding the availability, integrity, confidentiality, and authenticity of all the information they hold or access, whether electronic or physical. This document constitutes the University of Worcester’s Information Security policy, and with the associated policies provides guidance for staff and students. All members of the University have a responsibility to work within the guidelines of these policies.

The regulations detailed in this document apply to anyone using IT Resources for any purpose at the University, including staff (temporary and permanent), students and visitors. This includes personally owned equipment connected to the University’s network from an external location, or on UW premises.

All University staff members are set up with an IT user account.
You will receive your account username via email, to the email address you provided during your application, along with instructions on how to obtain your account password.
If you do not receive these credentials you will need to call the University’s IT Service Desk based in the United Kingdom on +44(0)1905 85 7500 between 09:00-17:00, Monday to Friday.
Please note: You’ll need your staff ID number ready for verification purposes. Contact your line manager/link tutor if you don’t have this.

How can I change my password?
You will be prompted to accept the University of Worcester IT Regulations and Information Security Policy. From here you will then be asked to setup multi-factor authentication.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) combines the use of your account password and mobile device to create a double layer of security. This increases the level of security on your university account, protecting against the loss of personal, sensitive data from people with malicious intent.
Once MFA is set up you will be asked to use authorise access to your account whenever you access university systems off campus.
This also means we’re making it easier than ever for you to reset your password if you ever forget it. You can now reset, unlock, or change your password without having to contact us!

I’m having difficulty registering for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), what can I do?
The staff directory is a useful resource that is visible only to staff members.
The staff directory will automatically populate your name and email address however you’ll need to log in and update details such as your job title, office number etc.
The Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) Unit specialises in enhancing the learning and teaching experience through the use of technology.
