Something that isn’t always obvious when changing mobile phones is to remember to keep hold of your old phone for the setup of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on your new device, before you dispose of it. If you don’t do this, it will be difficult to maintain access to your University account without support from the IT Service. If you have both devices to hand, swapping over your access as straight forward – please follow the guide here to do this.
If you have disposed of your old phone, you will need to reset your MFA by contacting the IT Service, preferably over the phone as we will need to run through some security checks, so it’s a good idea to also have your staff or student number to hand.
