Studying at Dudley Campus this year?

If you’ve recently joined the University of Worcester as a student but will be studying on our Dudley Campus, you will be given two login IDs, one to access computers and print when you are on the Dudley Campus and another to access online services. The IT Service has put together some useful information to get you started.


Using your Dudley College Account

When will I need to use my Dudley College login details?

You will need to use your Dudley College login ID whenever you want to login to a computer or print on the Dudley Campus, for example in open access areas, the library and computer labs.

What does my Dudley College login ID look like?

It will look something like this 00123456

How do I print at Dudley College?

You can print from any computer, you will be given £2 free credit per quarter, for any additional credit you will need to top up with cash at the IoT Reception or Broadway Library.

To retrieve print jobs, simply scan your Dudley College ID card on the printer. Your card will be automatically registered, but you can also login by using “students\” followed by your Dudley College login ID e.g. students\00123456.

How can I get help if I can’t login to a computer or print at Dudley College?

Using your University of Worcester Account

When will I need to use my University of Worcester login details?

You will need to use your University of Worcester login ID whenever you access online services on the internet, for example the myWorcester portal when you are on the Dudley Campus or at home. You may also need to use your University login ID to access some software on the Dudley Campus.

What does my University login ID look like?

It will look something like this GARC1_24@uni.worc.ac.uk

Accessing your University account for the first time?

The first time you login to your University of Worcester student account off-campus, you will be prompted to register for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). This provides an extra layer of security on your account.

You will need to register for MFA before you complete your online registration. Please see the guidance below to help you register for this service.

Please note: You will need to keep the Microsoft Authenticator app installed on your device in order to access your account off-campus.

  1. Go to the ‘Student Portal’
  2. Enter your ‘Login ID‘ to sign into Microsoft 365. Your login ID is listed on your student registration email. Then select ‘Next
  1. Enter your ‘Password‘. Your password is listed on your student registration email. Then select ‘Sign in‘.
  1. After you choose Sign in, you’ll be prompted for more information. Select ‘Next
  1. You will then need to download the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device. If you are accessing your account from your smartphone or mobile device you can select ‘Download now‘ to be directed to the app store. Once you have downloaded the Microsoft Authenticator app select ‘Next‘.

  1. On the next page in the web browser select ‘Next‘. Then using your mobile device open the Microsoft Authenticator app and if prompted set the app to ‘allow notifications‘. In the app select ‘+ / add account‘ and select ‘Work or school‘.
  1. If you are using a computer, open the authenticator app on your smartphone or mobile device and scan the QR code displayed on screen. If you are unable to to scan the QR code select ‘Can’t scan image?‘ and use the ‘Copy‘ buttons to enter the code and/or URL into the mobile app. Once your app is setup select ‘Next‘ in the web browser.
  1. Now it’s time to use multi-factor authentication. Within the time limit approve the MFA app notification to sign in.

Don’t get locked out of your account

Reset Password:

Provided you have Multi-Factor Authentication on your account you can reset your password via this link https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/

Add a second device for MFA:

Setup a second device with the Microsoft Authenticator app so you don’t get locked out of you account.

  1. Go to: https://myaccount.microsoft.com/ and sign in with your existing University of Worcester credentials.
  2. Under the Security info section select ‘Update info
  1. You will then see a list of your existing multi-factor authentication methods. You can remove your previous device by selecting ‘Delete‘ for the corresponding authentication method. You will then be able to register your new device by selecting ‘+ Add sign-in method
  1. Select ‘Authenticator app‘ from the drop down list, then select ‘Add‘.
  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to guide you through the app registration process

Getting access to Blackboard

Ensure you have finished registration on your SOLE page. You will have completed this when you get to the certificate of registration page.

Once you’ve registered you may need to wait 24 hours until you can access to the Blackboard modules.
