Worcestershire County Council have prepared and are implementing their own print and copy solution across all county libraries. This means that in the Hive, University staff and students will use one set of devices and members of the public will use another.
The two solutions will operate separately from February 4th, 2025.
Nothing regarding the actual student and staff print & copy within the building is changing in that you will still use the same print queues, same printers, tariffs and top-up kiosks* as on any other campus site.
These will now be exclusively for the use of University staff and students within the Hive and these will be complimented with additional devices for members of the public to print and copy from separately.
Just like the existing setup, the account that you login into a Hive PC with will determine which print queues are available to you, so staff and students will see “University Print” to print to and release print jobs from as normal.
Yes, as there will be two separate print and copy solutions within the building, the number of University printers and top-up kiosks is being scaled back slightly to reflect this. There will now be:
*Please note that in-line with other campus sites, print and copy top-up is now cashless and the cash top-kiosk at the Hive has been removed as part of these changes.
Posters will be placed around the building to reflect these changes.
