Shortly after a new staff member receives their account credentials they will be asked to and add Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) methods to their account.

This is a mandatory step that substantially increases the accounts security and protects against unauthorised access by requiring a secondary verification of identity when logging in to University Online services.

Typically this takes the form of a prompt from a Microsoft mobile application on a personal device, but can also be a code sent by text message, or even a personalised token from a key generator.

Full guidance on registering for this service can be found here.

Example support requests for this service:

• I believe my account has been compromised, please can you reset my password and confirm the account is secure?
