Description
Whilst an overview of staff IT Security obligations are covered in the IT Induction for new starters, IT Service and the Information Assurance Department offer a dedicated course for all staff who are interested.
This covers more advanced topics such as data retention practices, cybersecurity behaviours, social engineering, GDPR obligations, as well as Freedom of Information and Subject Access Requests.
This training can be particularly useful if your role involves working with sensitive University data but is equally beneficial to all staff simply looking to expand their knowledge of this area. Please note that should a University data breach occur of which you have had direct involvement with, then you will be requested to attend this training at the next available session.
These “GDPR, Data Protection, FOI and Information Security” sessions currently run monthly via Microsoft Teams and can be booked from the staff development workshops page accessible from the University staff homepage or here.
For more information on the courses structure and content please contact Human Resources.
