Description
University Staff can place requests for software for their individual use via the IT Service Desk. We’ll then check to see if it’s something already available or if not explore options on the suitability of procuring it. Several factors influence this process including the number of licences needed, how long the software is needed for, and cost.
Once a decision has been made, IT will usually procure the software on the requesters behalf and hold its licence centrally. Depending on what has been agreed we may also potentially then recharge the school of department making the request.
Any renewals for subsequent years will be processed by us although due to the number of these, staff are encouraged to approach IT Service regarding these ahead of time.
Example support requests for this service:
• I’m looking to order Dragon Naturally speaking for a member of staff in my team.
• I’d like to order some test software that we’ve looking to use in student computer labs next year.
